Welcome to a new month at Queer Theatre, where we create space for LGBTQ+ artists to sharpen their skills, expand their networks, and share stories that matter. If you’re ready to take to the stage (or simply enjoy being part of a supportive creative community), we have a lineup of events tailored for performers, theatre enthusiasts, and friends alike.

Pizza & Movie Night: Moulin Rouge!

Thursday, 6th February | 7pm – 2am | The Two Brewers, Clapham

This month’s Pizza & Movie Night features Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge!—a visually stunning musical about love, creativity, and ambition. It’s an opportunity to gather in a relaxed setting with fellow theatre lovers, enjoy good food, and appreciate a classic of modern musical cinema.

7pm: Doors open for drinks and chats

8pm: Moulin Rouge on the Two Brewers big screen with with English subtitles and much singing-along!

10:30pm: A live cabaret set from Son Of A Tutu, included in your ticket.

Until 2am: DJ Amy LaQueefa keeps the energy going in the main bar.

Tickets:

£22.50 (includes pizza) / £15 (without pizza)

Proceeds support Queer Theatre’s ongoing work. Ticket sales close at 5pm on 6th February.

Valentine’s Weekend Trip to London Zoo

Saturday 15th February 2025 | 11am - 5pm | London Zoo, Regents Park

Spend a day exploring the wonders of London Zoo with fellow members of Queer Theatre. We’ll delve into the zoo’s conservation efforts, observe animal behavior (a great way to inspire character work), and enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere.

11am: Meet at the zoo gates (nearest tube: Camden Town or Regent’s Park).

11:30am: Brief tour with Alex Kemsley, an LGBTQ+ London Zoo employee and senior press officer. offering behind-the-scenes insights.

1pm: Packed lunch (BYO or purchase on site).

2pm – 5pm: Free to explore Gorilla Kingdom, Big Cats, Penguin Beach, and more. Group photo before heading home taken by our professional photographer Boyan Georgiev who will be with us all day.

Tickets: £20 (discounted from £31). Only 20 places available, first come first served. A great opportunity for actors to observe body language in a new context—and enjoy a day out with new and old friends.

OutCast: A Showcase of Queer Actors & Writing

Wednesday, 26th February | 7:30pm | The Two Brewers, Clapham

Join us for the launch of OutCast, celebrating new and rediscovered LGBTQ+ writing performed by emerging and established talents. Directed by Andrew Keates, this showcase is a platform for queer voices, including performers who’ve honed their craft through our 2B classes.

7:30pm: Doors open.

8pm: Performances commence (approx. 70 minutes).

Tickets: £20 / £18 (Equity concessions). Includes entry to The Two Brewers’ bar and cabaret afterward.

2B: Acting Classes for LGBTQ+ People

Every Monday | 7pm – 9:30pm | Free Tea & Coffee From 6:30pm

The Two Brewers, Clapham

Our weekly 2B Acting Classes For LGBTQ+ Peole offer a friendly and focused environment for LGBTQ+ actors of all levels—whether you’re completely new to performing or a seasoned pro looking to refine your craft.

Led by Andrew Keates: Award-winning director with a track record of championing LGBTQ+ theatre.

Skills & Techniques: Develop acting fundamentals, try out improvisation, and explore material relevant to our community’s experiences.

Collaborative Atmosphere: Meet fellow performers, discuss ideas, and cultivate your professional network.

Post-Class Social: Connect over a drink and keep the conversation going.

Cost: £18/£20 per session (Equity concessions apply). Tea, coffee, and biscuits are available from 6:30pm. Come early, get settled, and be ready to learn.
